Kelowna weather: Mixed bag with potential thunderstorms again

The Central Okanagan will return to sunshine and summer temperatures this week, but we still have a day or two to go before that.

Today’s forecast is similar to Monday’s, as it calls for a mixed bag of moody weather and a high in the teens.

We’ll see a mix of sun and cloud throughout the morning, bleeding into the early afternoon as it crawls up to a high of 18°C.

Northwesterly winds around 20 km/h will begin around 1 pm and Environment Canada calls for a chance of showers starting in the mid afternoon.

As was the case on Monday, those potential afternoon showers come with a risk of thunderstorms that will carry through until the late evening.

The chance of rain continues until the middle of the night and it will drop down to a low of 9°C.

Looking ahead, Environment Canada expects a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22°C on Wednesday before we get back to sunshine and a high of 26°C on Thursday.
