Prestigious Pickleball tournament hits Kelowna

Kelowna has welcomed close to 450 athletes this weekend as it has once again been the city chosen to host the National Pickleball Tournament.

For the fourth year in a row, the Parkinson Recreation Centre will welcome close to 1200 spectators to take in the prestigious event.

Athletes from across Canada, the United States, Mexico and even England have made the trip to compete against eachother across 28 courts.

Ranging from ages 18 to 80, the tournament welcomes anyone and everyone to participate. Athletes can join in on a number of categories including, mixed doubles, doubles and singles ranging from 3.0 to open play skill levels.

The weekend-long event carries on until 5 p.m. this Saturday and starts back up bright and early Sunday morning.
