Your Voice: Liberals' plan to change election date is selfish attempt to obtain massive pensions

Dear Editor,

This is to voice my opposition to the Liberal Party of Canada proposal to change the effective date for the Canadian national election from 21 October 2025 to 27 October 2025.

The only purpose for this proposed change is a selfish one, that is, to ensure that Liberal MPs obtain a massive pension payout at the expense of the Canadian taxpayer, should they lose the 2025 election.

Hypocritical Liberals would not allow such a change if Conservatives were to make the proposal if they were weak in the polls and Liberals had high expectations.

Frankly, Liberal MPs do not deserve even the least reward by pension after the disastrous performance perpetrated on Canadians for the past nine years.

Changing the election date as noted above would be tantamount to yet another kick in the face of the citizens of Canada by an arrogant and incompetent PM and his cabinet members.
