UPDATE: Body of missing Okanagan man found in forested area

(UPDATE: June 4 @ 10:05 am) - Scott Bailey, who was reported missing on Tuesday, has been found dead.

The RCMP confirmed today that the body of the missing 41-year-old Vernon resident was found in a forested area, but did not specify where.

His death is not considered suspicious and the BC Coroners Service is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances behind Bailey's untimely death.

"Thank you to all who assisted in the search and the North Okanagan RCMP offers our sincerest condolences to Scott’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time," said Cst. Chris Terleski.

Neither the RCMP nor BC Coroners Service will be releasing any further information at this time.

(UPDATE: June 2 @ 5:23 am): Mounties have released more information about missing Okanagan man Scott Bailey.

Bailey, from Vernon, was last seen on May 31 – and police and family are very concerned about his well-being.

Police have now revealed he may be driving a 2012 white Ford F-150 truck with the BC plate "NR2155."

They have provided a stock image showing a vehicle similar to Bailey's.

Anyone who has seen the vehicle, or who has information on Bailey's whereabouts, is urged to contact their local police – or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

(Original story: June 1 @ 10:55 am): Mounties in the Okanagan are searching for a missing man.

Scott Bailey was last seen in Vernon on Monday, May 31.

Police provided the following description of Bailey:

  • 41 years old

  • 5 ft 11 in

  • 201 lbs

  • Brown hair

  • Blue eyes

Police added they are “very concerned” about Bailey’s health and wellbeing.

His friends and family said it is out of character for him to be out of contact for so long.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bailey is urged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
