A 10-year veteran of the RCMP was honoured by the Okanagan RCMP Veterans Association last month.
On Jan. 11, Cst. Kerri Parish was awarded the first Okanagan Division Veterans award, presented to a serving member of the RCMP who best represents the mission, vision and value of the force.
The award was established to recognize an officer who reflects the ideals of policing in the current architecture, including:
- Promoting safe communities
- Progressive service delivery
- Law enforcement
- Community engagement
- Other policing initiatives
Cst. Parish has been a member of the RCMP since 2007, when she started her career in Surrey.
She transferred to Vernon in 2010 and is currently posted to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s ‘downtown enforcement unit.’

Parish engages her community through multiple inter agency committees she participates on. She has developed strong working relationships with all levels of local community groups, business groups and partner agencies. Cst. Parish's commitment to her detachment, peers and community is unwavering and you can often find her volunteering her time to local events or associations.
