Kelowna hockey player amasses several collegiate awards in Alberta

It was a season to remember for Kelowna’s Kaedence Mollin as she captained the Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Queens hockey team and was named the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s (ACAC) women's hockey player of the year.

"Kaedence has been an excellent on-ice leader for our team. She plays the game with pride and passion," said Kelly Coulter, RDP Queens hockey head coach.

"Kaedence is an outstanding 200-foot player who defends very well. She is often tasked with facing the top players from the opposition. She has also been a major driver of our offence with her play on the blue line and attacking off the rush."

Mollin, a third-year defender for the Queens, helped her team finish second in the ACAC championship this past weekend and scored 25 points in 25 regular-season games, the fourth-best mark in the league.

On top of being named player of the year, Mollin was named the ACAC women's hockey top scholastic achiever, an ACAC women’s hockey academic all-Canadian and a member of the ACAC’s women’s hockey first all-conference team.

To make things even more impressive, Mollin also achieved a 4.0 GPA during the fall term of 2024 while pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing.
