The Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) has announced the return of Small Shop Saturday.
On April 29, over 50 businesses will be participating with one-day specials, product demonstrations, in-store events, promotions and pop-up vendors.
The intention of the event is to showcase how much small businesses contribute to the region’s economy.
Supporting locally owned businesses helps fight inflation, keeps dollars and jobs in the community, and adds to the vibrancy, diversity and livability of Kelowna’s downtown, according to DKA.
On Saturday, there will be free street parking for the first two hours, but drivers must still use the pay-by-phone app or any pay station to register vehicle plates. Time restrictions apply beyond the first two hours.
With the Small Shop Hero Contest, visitors can play for a chance to win a prize package that includes eight $25 gift cards to the following businesses:
- Cadence Shoes
- Train Station Pub
- Little Boutique on Ellis
- Urban Gardener
- Olivia’s Oil & Vinegars
- Simply Computing
- 1000 Palms Swimwear
- Burnett’s Florist & Gifts
Small Shop “Hero Cards” can be picked up at all participating businesses from now through Saturday.
Players must collect three stickers from participating businesses before entering their completed Hero Card at one of the four entry locations:
- 1000 Palms, #7 – 565 Bernard Ave, The District Shops
- olive & elle, 1585 Pandosy St
- Lost Together, 287 Bernard Ave
- Okanagan Lifestyle Apparel, #115 – 1295 Cannery Lane
One winner will be chosen on May 3.
