The large 24-acre property currently home to the Central Mobile Park in the lower Mission has been sold.
On Tuesday, developer Kerkhoff Construction announced its acquisition of the site for the price of $15-million.
Located along Casorso Road, the property is being earmarked for future development by the same team responsible for the ONE Water Street and 1151 Sunset high rises.
However, CEO Leonard Kerkhoff says he doesn't foresee a project of that scale being built on the property.
"It's a very different site, it's not downtown where all the towers are and I don't see the project being of that magnitude," explained Kerkhoff.
"Our vision is undecided at this point, but we will be working with the tenants of the park, stakeholders, city staff and council."
The 55-plus park is home for 132 tenants. Kerkhoff says the company will be in contact with each of them over the coming months.
"We'll be meeting with the residents currently living on the site and will work with them to share our vision and hear their ideas for the site," said Kerkhoff.
"We look forward to collaborating with the park tenants and their south Pandosy neighbours to ensure a thoughtful and seamless transition over the coming years."
Kerkhoff added that future design plans for the property could include a long term independent living aspect that may suit the needs of some current tenants of the mobile home park.
