Developer eyes site near UBCO for mixed-use apartment project

Plans have been submitted for a new mixed-use residential building near the UBCO campus.

Earlier this month city planners accepted plans from Dualita Architecture.

The developer is looking to build a four-storey building at 975-985 Academy Way.

The building would be constructed west of two existing buildings that contain apartments and a convenience store, restaurant and other retail options.

The design plans show that there would be 21 units made up of 18 three-bedrooms and three four-bedroom units.

Thirty-seven vehicle parking stalls would be provided and 21 long-term and six short-term bicycle spots would be included in the site.

Parking would be provided in a small parkade underneath the building.

The three commercial spaces would face into the small complex that exists here.

City planners have circulated this application and a report can be expected before council in the coming weeks.
