Council approves 3-storey townhouse project on Ethel Street

Council unanimously gave the green light to a new townhouse project on Monday.

Located at the corner of Ethel Street and Laurier Avenue, the development calls for a three-storey building consisting of six townhomes.

Three of those units will feature three-bedrooms while the other three will house two-bedrooms.

Councillor Brad Sieben said the development is an "absolute ideal location" but questioned whether or not the form and character will stand the test of time.

"It's a very common design, but I wonder if that large white wall facing the street will weather poorly over the years."

Each unit will come complete with its own side by side parking garage and the project also features six community garden plots.

The two deciduous trees at north property line will also be preserved during construction.
