Heavy smoke from a structure fire in the Rutland area could be seen from across the city early Tuesday morning.
The fire happened in a multi-unit complex on Keehn Road, said the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD).
The fire department started receiving reports of a vehicle fire around 8 am Tuesday morning, however, it was later determined that the vehicle fire was actually located inside one of the businesses.
Although the KFD did not say exactly which business was on fire, pictures shared to local Facebook group show that it was located close to Hampton Pools and Landscape.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building when they arrived.

Firefighters entered the building from the rear and were able to extinguish the fire quickly before it spread to any of the other units.
According to KFD, ladder trucks were used to monitor the fire due to heavy HVAC units on top of the building.
Only one of the units but some of the others were hit with the smoke.
One adult was treated for minor smoke inhalation and taken to the hospital but no other injuries were reported.
At this time, the fire is not deemed suspicious, KFD said.
