UPDATE: ZZ Top's Okanagan tour date postponed until 2021
(UPDATE: April 15 @ noon) - ZZ Top has official rescheduled its Canadian tour that was expected to take over arenas this spring.
It's basically been pushed a full year back, which means you won't be seeing the band until the spring of 2021.
The Penticton show at the South Okanagan Events Centre has been postponed until April 24, 2021.
Cheap Trick will still be the opening act.
Tickets currently purchased for the May 2, 2020 date in Penticton will be honoured for next year's show.
If you can't make it in 2021, or would like a refund for any reason, they'll be offered for 30 days and you're asked to contact the Valley First Box Office before May 15, 2020.
(Original story: Dec. 16, 2019 @ 7:20 am) - Rock and Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top are coming to our neck of the woods.
The legendary band has announced a series of Western Canadian tour dates, which includes a stop in Penticton.
They’ll play the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday, May 2 and they’re bringing Cheap Trick along as their opening act.
Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill will bring their marvelous beards along with drummer Frank Beard and play what will surely be a memorable set for their Okanagan fans.
With 15 studio albums to choose from, the set list will be chock full of popular hits from the band’s five-decade career.
Cheap Trick will also have plenty of material to choose from as the band has been putting out music since 1973.
It’s a safe bet that you’ll hear their classic “I Want You to Want Me” at some point during the show.
Tickets for the show will set you back between $93.98 and $125.48 before taxes and fees and they’ll go on sale through Valley First Tix on Friday at 10 am.
Both the floor and bowl will be reserved seating.
