TD Benefits: 25 years and counting as the local advisor for the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce

This series is sponsored by TD Benefits, a Kelowna-based company specializing in employee group benefits and life insurance solutions for businesses in the Okanagan.

For a quarter century, TD Benefits has been the exclusive advisor of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce employee benefits program.

In that time, Lyndon Dyas and TD Benefits have become benefit advisors to five chambers throughout the valley from Peachland to Lumby. And so, in his latest visit to NowMedia’s studio, Dyas explained why the plan is so popular.

Joined by host Jim Csek, Dyas shared that the plan is one of the main factors that draw businesses to become members of local chambers of commerce.

The insurance company behind the plan is the Johnston Group, and Dyas said it is one of the best plans in Canada because of the volume of individuals it covers, with around 35,000 businesses onboard.

“It’s such a popular program for small businesses throughout the country," he added.

Dyas explained that the benefit of being a part of a plan with a local chamber is stability, eliminating the need for high renewals and adding that businesses are not singled out for high usage.

Another benefit of the plan is an app, which is easily used by employees to process claims or get in touch with the provider for more information.

Dyas added that the chamber’s plan has a “ton of flexibility," allowing businesses to access plans that cater to their needs.
