1. Texas megachurch pastor accused of molesting 12-year-old girl
Robert Morris, the pastor of a megachurch in the Dallas area, has admitted to having “inappropriate sexual behaviour with a young lady” in the 1980s. It comes after a woman accused him of molesting her when she was just 12 years old.
2. DeChambeau wins US Open after historical McIlroy collapse
The Sunday finish to the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst will be remembered for years. A classic back nine battle between Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy finished with a one-shot win for DeChambeau. His incredible up and down from the bunker on 18 and McIlroy’s two missed putts under four feet in the final three holes were the difference.
3. Heat wave expected to hit Eastern Canada this week
Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for parts of Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Temperatures will hit the mid 30s, but the humidity will make it feel as hot as 45 in some sports, the weather agency said.
4. Canadian home sales down in May compared to a year earlier
The latest data from the Canadian Real Estate Association says the number of homes sold in May 2024 fell compared to the same month in 2023, as did the average sale price. Nationally, there were 5.9% less home sales in May 2024 compared to May 2023, and the sale price fell 4% to a hair under $700,000.
5. Gordon Ramsay says he’s lucky to be alive after cycling accident
Famous chef Gordon Ramsay took to social media to share details about a recent cycling accident in Connecticut. At one point during the video, Ramsay, who thanked the doctors and nurses who cared for him, lifted up his chef’s coat to show a massive bruise on his torso.
