Naramata fire being investigated by BCWS

A fire broke out in Naramata last night.

Social media users spotted the blaze on Monday evening.

The Regional District of Okanagan–Similkameen said at about 8:50 pm on Monday that it was “monitoring” the fire near Chute Lake Road.

It added: “Fire crews are responding and the situation is expected to be under control soon.”

In an update at 10:38 pm last night, meanwhile, the BC Wildfire Service said the fire remained out of control.

BCWS listed the fire as 0.009 hectares in size.

It said the cause of the fire, north of Naramata Road, was under investigation.
