No Frills is coming to West Kelowna.
After the Loblaw-run discount grocery store made its Central Okanagan debut in Kelowna three months ago, it will double its presence in the region this year.
The West Kelowna No Frills will be located in the Westridge Shopping Centre at Hwy 97 and Elliott Road, which is managed by the Callahan Property Group (CPG).
“CPG is proud to welcome No Frills, a proud Canadian brand, to the Westridge Shopping Centre,” said CPG president Bruce Callahan. “This vibrant addition to West Kelowna promises to expand the variety of grocery options to the growing community.”
Some Okanagan residents will remember that the Westridge Shopping Centre was once home to a Cooper’s Foods, which closed in early 2010 after 22 years in business.
That location became a Lordco, which is still there today, and the new No Frills will be going in right next door in the former Okanagan Regional Library space.
CPG marketing manager Denise Tade says construction to turn the former library into a grocery is expected to begin in mid-March.
If all goes well on that front, the new 12,000 square foot No Frills could open its doors to customers by late spring or early summer.
