Spring Vibes at Big White

Spring has arrived at Big White, but that doesn’t mean the fun is slowing down. With the snow still holding up and the mountain buzzing with activities, it’s the perfect time to squeeze in those last few runs before the season wraps up on April 6th.

If you’re in the market for new skis, the X Demo Ski Sale is back this Saturday, March 29th. Chloe Cameron from Big White says it’s a great chance to try before you buy, with demo skis available for $25 a day. “You can swap them out each run, test different styles and brands, and find what works best for you,” she shared. And if you love what you try? You can score a solid deal on skis that are still in great condition.

For those craving a little friendly competition, the Neil Edgeworth Banked Slalom is the place to be from March 28th to 30th. It’s a family favourite that draws racers of all ages and abilities, with prizes, a dinner banquet, and even $5,000 in cash up for grabs in the pro division. Registration has been extended to today, so there’s still time to get in on the action.

Of course, spring skiing wouldn’t be complete without some patio lounging. Big White’s patios are ready to welcome sunseekers for après-ski drinks — and with the sun shining, don’t forget the sunscreen! As Jim Csek joked, “You might even catch a tan while enjoying the view.”

Looking for more ways to enjoy the mountain? There’s trivia night, the glowing Twinkling Trail, and the adrenaline-pumping Tub and Groove at Pew Park after 4 PM — the perfect post-ski thrill for the whole family.
