Ski season is still a few weeks away, but the Big White Ski Club’s annual Ski, Board & Sport Swap is happening this month.
The 53rd annual edition of the event is set for 9 am until 3 pm on Saturday, Oct. 26, at a brand new venue.
It will take place at the Trinity Church at the intersection of Springfield Road and Spall Road, a larger venue that organizers say will allow more inventory and easier parking.
Anyone looking to find high-quality, pre-owned equipment and attire at a fraction of the cost of buying new gear should circle Oct. 26 on their calendar.
The sale will also feature a wide selection of discounted new clothing, equipment and accessories from local retailers.
Big White Ski Club president Amir Khatami says the annual event helps keep skiing and snowboarding affordable for families.
“As a non-profit organization, we are proud to host this event to raise funds for our athletes, enabling them to ski, race and stay active,” he explained. “The Swap also allows people to enter the sport at a much lower cost than buying everything at full retail prices.”
Ahead of the Oct. 26 sale, the consignment day will be from 11 am until 6:30 pm on Friday, Oct. 25, with a consignment fee of $3 per item to go along with a 20% commission on sold items.
