Unlike many other cities, Kelowna offers both urban and outdoor living within a few steps of each other.
A new 5-acre urban park being built in the heart of the city is a perfect example of blending city living with outdoor recreation. Rowcliffe Park, located on the corner of Richter Street and Rowcliffe Avenue, will soon be Kelowna’s largest urban park.

The park, located at the center of the master-planned community Central Green, has been carefully planned and features a variety of amenities. The City has allocated $1.35 million towards the construction of the park. Construction of Phase 1 of Rowcliffe Park has already begun and will continue throughout the summer.
The park will offer a large green area, perfect for informal sports, picnicking and other activities. There will also be a playground, an art installation, community gardens and a heritage tree preservation.
A walking circuit will also be built around the perimeter of the park, and dog-owners will be glad to know that there will be a fenced area where they can let their pups run off-leash.
Rowcliffe Park is being built in one of the most densely residential areas of the city. The hope is that the park will be of great use to many residents in the surrounding area, and encourage an even stronger sense of community in Kelowna’s core. It will be a place for exercise, art, relaxation and social gathering.
With several businesses, residences and beaches nearby, the park is very accessible and is expected to be well-used by those living, working and playing in the area.

For residents of Central Green, the park offers not only an expansive green space right outside their door, but the chance to socialize with neighbours and other residents with ease.
Many will also get to enjoy views of the park from their home. Several homes in Urbana, Central Green’s final phase, offer park views and are currently for sale. If you’re interested in purchasing a modern home, in a central location and with park views, then you can learn more about Urbana here.
