Uncover the charm of Victoria, BC, with a blend of festive delights, indulgent dining, and coastal adventures. Here’s our guide to a perfect girls’ trip!
Your ultimate girls' getaway begins with the ease of Pacific Coastal Airlines' new direct flights from Kelowna to Victoria. No layovers, just smooth sailing into one of Canada’s most charming cities.
We touched down with excitement, ready to indulge in all things festive, foodie, and fun. Pacific Coastal Air now has direct flights from Kelowna to Comox, Prince George, Victoria, and Nanaimo!
Our basecamp for this adventure was the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel, a stunning waterfront property that offers luxurious comfort and unbeatable views of the Inner Harbour.
The location couldn’t be more ideal—just a short water taxi ride or a leisurely walk across the Johnson Street Bridge to downtown Victoria.
Dinner on our first evening was nothing short of magical. We dined at LURE Restaurant & Bar, located right in the Delta.
LURE’s Winter LURE dining domes provided an unforgettable experience: a seven-course meal served inside a cozy, twinkling dome with optional BC wine pairings.
Each dish was a testament to local ingredients, from the melt-in-your-mouth sablefish to the decadent chocolate dessert finale.
Lure Restaurant & Bar also serves an incredible west-coast style menu for breakfast with menu items like crab cake eggs benny and smoked salmon toastie. I also enjoyed a late night bite upon arrival with live music and sweeping views of Victoria’s downtown at night.
The next morning, we set off for a fondue brunch on The Veranda at the Fairmont Empress. The spread was an indulgent array of cheeses, meats, roasted vegetables, and savory bites, all paired perfectly with Empress Gin cocktails around a warm fire table, overlooking the harbour.
There’s something timelessly elegant about dining at the Empress; the historic charm of the hotel enhances every bite.
Not to be outdone, the Fairmont Empress’s Festive High Tea stole our hearts. Picture delicate finger sandwiches, fresh-baked scones, and artfully crafted desserts, all served with a side of holiday spirit.
The tea menu itself was a global journey, offering blends as vibrant as the conversation at our table.
Exploring Victoria is a dream thanks to its walkability. We strolled along Government Street, a vibrant area filled with boutique shops, galleries, and cozy cafés.
A must-visit is Chinatown, Canada’s oldest, where the narrow alleys, including the famous Fan Tan Alley, transport you to a different era. Unique finds like handcrafted jewelry, teas, and local art made our shopping spree extra special.
Victoria’s Chinatown holds rich cultural and historical significance. It began in the mid-1800s during the gold rush and remains a living testament to the resilience and contributions of Chinese immigrants.
Today, its red gates, intricate lanterns, and authentic eateries make it a must-see.
When our feet needed a break, the iconic Victoria Water Taxis whisked us across the water.
These charming water taxis are not just a mode of transport; they’re an experience in themselves. Our skipper shared insider tips on hidden gems around the harbour, adding a personal touch to our journey.
You can board a water taxi just steps from the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel.
No girls' trip is complete without more retail therapy. Lower Johnson Street, or “LoJo,” is a fashion lover’s paradise, with boutiques offering everything from boho chic to timeless classics.
We also discovered unique treasures in shops tucked away on quaint side streets. Don’t miss the market’s in Bastion Square, you’ll find some incredibly unique items to buy.
For a quick pick me up, head to Duo Cafe Bakery located inside the Laurel Point Inn. Walking distance from the Parliament buildings, Duo, has some of the most amazing pastries in Victoria!
My recommendation, grab a specialty coffee and croissant and walk the path around the harbour for some beautiful photo opps.
Make sure to set time aside to enjoy the amenities that The Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel has to offer, such as complimentary bikes, tennis courts, racquetball, a large indoor pool, and beautiful spaces to enjoy the view.
As the trip wound down, we reflected on the perfect blend of festive magic, culinary indulgence, and coastal adventure.
Victoria’s charm is undeniable, and its mix of old-world elegance and modern vibrancy make it an ideal destination for a girls’ getaway.
