Meet Taylor Joseph. Taylor is born and raised in Kelowna. He loves to spend time with his mother and brother, as he believes that family is the most important thing.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
Born and raised.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Both my mother and my brother. As you grow older you start to realize that family is the most important thing, those people will always people there for you no matter what and one day you might not have them.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Any supplement store in Kelowna so I can get my hands on Blue Raspberry flavoured Mammoth pump pre workout. I'm addicted to that stuff.
Describe yourself in one word.
Exuberant.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
The Monaco Grand Prix. The sheer power and ferociousness of the Formula 1 cars fascinate me.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Hit up my sanctuary, the boxing gym, and push my body to its limits.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
When I was a young kid I remember biking with the family along the street I was going super fast trying to out bike them, I turned to look back to see how close they were and as soon as I turned my head back around I ran straight into a street light pole.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
In the summer of 2017 I was invited to the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas to train with Floyd Mayweather, his father Floyd Mayweather Sr. and many other of Floyds Money Team Athletes. It was the most thrilling moments of my life to be able to train and spend time with such successful athletes. It surely changed my perspective on life as well as how I conduct my business.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
This first time our family got a puppy. They sure are a mans best friend.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
It's very hard to find the time nowadays but that's no excuse. This question has sure made me aware that it is an important part of being apart of this community. I have tons of clothes and household items that could be put to good use for those that may not have that luxury. This 2019 I'll be giving back by donating all of my unused clothing and other unused items to the Salvation Army, Share and Value Village.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
How the media and society portray the human image. There is so much pressure on people to look or act a certain way. Especially for women. Everyone just be themselves and be happy with who you are.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I started reading Awaken the Giant Within, by Tony Robbins, this book is powerful. Whenever I get the chance to sit down in my quiet home and relax to read a couple of chapters.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Positive change begins with every individual of this community, not just a few people. It isn’t only the mayor’s job or city council, it is all of our duties being apart of this community to aid in positive change. I strongly believe in pay it forward. If we could all pay it forward it creates a chain reaction. We would see change, more rapidly.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
So many things. Kelowna has the lake, many hiking spots, Big White, endless restaurants and wineries.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Monaco Grand Prix
2. Great White Shark cage diving
3. Dirt bike the Oregon sand dunes

Mostly through Instagram @thisistaylorjoseph or my business page @elitetacticalfitnessboxing.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Elite Tactical Fitness and Boxing.
Why did you get into/start this business?
I’ve been an athlete with Boxing BC for 2 years. Its the most mentally and physically demanding sport I've done. I absolutely love it and I wanted to train people through a workout other than your typical weight lifting.
What is the goal of your business?
To help people elevate their physical and mental well-being through the sport of boxing and fitness. To encourage people to push past there limits and face their fears.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
I have no patience. I always want everything right now and it creates a lot of anxiety for myself. I must learn to have more patience. Things take time.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
If only I knew back then what I know now. I’d probably be where I want to be a lot sooner. But then again I believe everything happens for a reason, and all that has brought me to this point.
What do you always find yourself saying?
Champ.
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Everything you want is on the other side of fear.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Jim Carrey, that man seems to be on a whole other level when it comes to life. He has some youtube videos which he describes his perspective on life. It's very interesting. I'm sure I could learn a lot from him in 24 hours.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
There are a lot of small businesses in Kelowna, we need to all support each other and help one another grow.
