Meet Jordan Delaney. Jordan was born in New West Minister but has lived in Kelowna for 20 years. He enjoys spending time with those who mean most to him and hanging out at the lake.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?

I was born in New West Minster, I have lived in Kelowna for 20 years.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My two favourite people to spend time with are my beautiful newborn daughter Paisley and my beautiful girlfriend Demi.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
My favourite store in Kelowna is Home Depot, every time I walk in there I wish I could buy all the tools on the shelves.

Describe yourself in one word.
Ambitious.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Greece, I would like to learn more about their culture.

What is your
favourite activity in Kelowna?
My favourite activity in the summer is spending time at the lake and going on hikes. My favourite activity in the winter is skiing at big white.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Too many.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The most inspiring thing that has happened to me was, starting my own construction ton company last year and right now I have one employee and still growing!

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
my favourite childhood memory is camping and dirt biking.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I give back to the community by helping people with handyman fixes on their house. Eventually, I would like to donate to a few charities, one being the SPCA.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?

Homelessness.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I would sneak away to a hiking trail.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Homelessness and more homeless shelters.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Definitely not the drivers. :P

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Skydiving.
Bungee jumping.
Travel the world.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.

Something people may not know about me is, I started my own business at the age of 20.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Facebook.

What is the name of your business/organization?
High Mountain Maintenance.

Why did you get into/start this business?
The reason I started my business was, I saw all lots of companies/contractors that would start the job and leave before finishing or not completing the job correctly.

What is the goal of your business?
Grow and grow and grow!

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?

The biggest struggle in life has been finances.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do everything the same, I think it is good to learn from your mistakes.

What do you always find yourself saying?
Sounds good!

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Work and work until you don't need to work for someone besides yourself!

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would choose my daughter Paisley, she makes me the happiest when I am around her.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?

support local small businesses.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Two very proud accomplishments are becoming the father of my baby and starting up my business.

Kevin Delaney, he has two mechanics shops in town that he has worked very hard at for many years now.
