Meet Jason. Born and raised in sun-soaked Winfield, BC. After graduating high school he moved away to study in Vancouver and Victoria. Then came back to Winfield to start a family!
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My wife, Nikki. We’ve been together since High School. We’ve been lucky enough to go on a few trips together in the past few years, and those adventures with her are highlights for me every year.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Japan. I have never been, but have always wanted to experience their sights, food, and culture.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
It’s not really a store, I guess, but I would probably say BNA. Just a great social place to have in Kelowna for people of all ages. And I’ve always had great respect for the Nixon family.
What is your favourite activity?
I don’t seem to be able to get out and do it enough but I love nothing more than being out on the water on the West Coast of BC. I don’t think there is a more beautiful place in the world.
If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
Tacos. But I’ll never pass on a good burger, or a homemade pizza!
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Chipped my tooth and broke my finger at an outdoor hockey ‘tournament’. Tough day it seems I will never hear the end of it from my friends. Haha.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
It’s the obvious answer, but would have to be my wife giving birth to our two kids. And the kids both turned out great, and keep me on my toes every day.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Probably ski racing at the Nationals, as part of the Big White Ski Race team. I loved competing.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I’m fortunate that with my position at Voyager RV, we’re able to give back all year long to different organizations, teams, fundraising causes, events, etc. Personally, I coach a lot of different sports teams in the community…and I was a small part of the fundraising that took part for the new Okanagan College Trades Training complex.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Trump
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Camping with my great group of friends and their families. I’m just getting into it but I think Mountain biking is going to become a favorite real soon.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Go for a run on either the road or trail.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
The downtown has really grown positively over the past few years, which is great! The north-end, in the area of the new Police Dept has so much potential, especially with the Rail Trail starting/ending in that area. That has potential to be a vibrant area.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Other than the jacked-up trucks? (kidding :) I’d say that the mix of the mountains + lake + weather we get, are a pretty tough combo to beat!
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1.Trip to Japan.
2.Cross Canada RV trip.
3. Machu Picchu.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
Despite what my freakishly-tall friends think, I am actually average height.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest)
I am not a big social media guy. I use FB and Twitter, but you won’t get a ton of newsfeed action by following me.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Voyager RV Centre
Why did you get into/start this business?
Fell in love with it in 2003, after I was just filling in part time helping out with the website and advertising.
What is the goal of your business?
To give our customers the #1 Best Customer Experience in the RV Industry anywhere.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Probably dealing with things when any health-related issues arise with family and close friends. Our health is everything.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
So far, so good! I’m pretty fortunate to be able to do what I do and have the family and friends that I do. So I don’t think I’d change anything.
What do you always find yourself saying?
“Why wouldn’t we!?”
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Local stores have so much more personality and way more focus on customer experience. We need local businesses to give us options and keep adding to the area’s culture.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Business-wise, would be this past year being named an Elite Blue Ribbon Top 5 RV Dealership in all of North America, by RV Business Magazine.

Our entire staff of over 64 at Voyager RV! We continue to grow, and they continue to work hard with smiles on their faces. Such a great team.
