Any person who has something inspiring and encouraging to say. I love hearing different people’s perspectives on how to live a good life.

Blonde and the Green Vanity, Blonde because it reminds me of the boutiques I loved shopping at in Toronto and Green Vanity because of their focus on beautiful skin care and sustainability.
Describe yourself in one word.
Curious
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
To Aspen to go hiking because its stunning and hiking is my happy place right now. I’m going in August so my dream is coming true!
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Hands down hiking Knox. Just check out my Instagram ;)
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I’m always embarrassed when I meet a patient for the first time and I mispronounce their name.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Completing a 200 hr yoga teacher training in 2014. I was 0% spiritual before I did that and it opened my eyes to a whole new way of living. Now I use the principles of yoga to be the best person I can be in order to provide the best possible care/instruction to my patients and students.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
When I was a kid, my dad and I used to go fly fishing every single Father’s Day. When I was around 10 years old we were out on a small lake and I was casting my rod to get the fly in a better position. I flicked my line back and it got stuck, I was so confused until I turned around and realized I had caught a fish on the back cast! I have never seen that happen before or since. I guess I was using the right fly!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
In the spring I volunteered my time as a physio for runners of the Hungry Hungry Half Marathon. It was such a great experience. I love working with runners and races always have such an uplifting atmosphere. I have plans to do the same for the Kelowna Dragonboat Festival in August.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Our emphasis on consumerism.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Likely the top of Knox.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I’d like to see a greater emphasis on household recycling and composting to reduce our waste output.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Everything. The lake, the people, downtown, the wineries, the agriculture, the parks, the restaurants, the community.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
- Spend a month in Bali doing yoga and exploring.
- Rock a handstand.
- Own a cabin in the woods.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I grew up on a ranch, I love cows and I can drive a tractor.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Instagram and Twitter.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Fine Feather Physio
Why did you get into/start this business?
I work as a physiotherapist at NeuMovement in Glenmore and I wanted a platform from which to market myself as a physio and yoga teacher with room to expand.
What is the goal of your business?
To help people move better so they can live better.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Believing that I can do anything that I set my mind to, I tend to doubt my own power at times. This is definitely a work in progress!
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I’ve been very lucky. I wouldn’t change a thing!
What do you always find yourself saying?
People are so interesting, aren’t they? Everyone has a story.
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Get up and get moving!
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My Auntie Joan because she knows so much about the history of my family and I love hearing her stories.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because it promotes community and the more we support each other the more success we will all have.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Learning to practice kindness with myself and with others.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Anyone who runs a free or affordable workout program! The fewer barriers there are to exercise and movement there are, the healthier we will all be!
