Meet Beccy. Beccy has lived in Kelowna for only four months, and is already such an inspiration to young aspiring chefs. At just 19 years old, she has her own catering company and has won MasterChef Canada!
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
Edmonton, lived in Kelowna for 4 months.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Family! Family is everything!
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
QB gelato.
Describe yourself in one word.
Ambitious.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Scandinavia, because their culinary world is like none other.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Walking/hiking.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Walking into glass... I swear it wasn’t even there!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Winning MasterChef Canada at 19 years old!

Baking with my mom.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I give back by offering my services through food in hope of raising money for charities.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Equality for women.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Outdoors.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
More resources for the homeless.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The community, everyone loves to help their neighbours. There is always a sense of home here.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to Switzerland.
Cook/travel the world.
Learn a new language.

I hate peanut butter!
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Bec Catering.
Why did you get into/start this business?
Because I won masterchef and love cooking.
What is the goal of your business?
Grow and be successful.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
My biggest struggle was seeing everyone’s comments after episodes it’s hard to read the haters comments and not take it to heart, but thank you to the lovely comments I do get it really picks me up!
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Same.
What do you always find yourself saying?
Wanna read a book - my niece loves reading books with me.
