Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
Born in Delft, The Netherlands. Lived in Kelowna for 30 years.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Any family member because those relationships are most important.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I love the Hawaiian Islands, visiting there brings me at peace. I love the warm, soothing weather.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Mad Mango restaurant, great food and great management.
What is your favourite activity?
SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding)
If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
I prefer a nice grilled burger with all the toppings.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I was walking on a sidewalk in Kelowna years ago and I did not see a large low hanging branch that I walked into knocking me to the ground! Being tall has some disadvantages.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Seeing my daughter Claire being born four months early and growing into a healthy 8-year-old girl has taught me to persevere and never give up!
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
I remember my father modifying my tricycle so it had lights that I could turn on and off making me the proudest kid on the block!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I have been a RCMP Auxiliary Constable for almost 12 years and have donated hundreds of hours volunteering in Kelowna assisting the great men and women who do this job every day.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
It might sound like a cliché, but I would want world peace. A planet where we all respect, help and love one and other would be ideal.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
I love walking around town or going for a quick hike in the surrounding areas.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Kasugai gardens behind city hall is a nice peaceful place.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Kelowna has a lot of traffic, I would like an even better plan to deal with this for the future as the city is growing quickly!
If you were granted one wish for work or in life, what would it be?
I would wish for a cure for Cancer

I like to eat fresh strawberries sliced on a piece of bread!

I provide DJ and MC services for weddings, parties and corporate events in the Okanagan.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I love music and I love people. Put those two together and you have a great DJ!
What is the goal of your business?
To ensure my clients have a fun a memorable experience at their event.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
My biggest struggle in life is trying to stay connected with all the great people I have gotten to know. There just doesn't seem to be enough time to visit everyone frequently!
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I wouldn't change a thing. (Okay, I would invest in Apple back in 1980)
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Local businesses spend their earned dollars right back in the same community, it's a win-win!
Give someone that you think deserves it a shout out and explain why!
My wife Charlene, for being the most supportive person I know. Without her, my life would not be what it is today.
