Kelowna’s Home décor closet cleanout is Sunday, September 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Laurel Packinghouse. The Laurel will be jam-packed with tables of all types of gently used home decor items with an eclectic mix of vintage, contemporary and one-of-a-kind pieces such as vases, lamps, art, small furniture, accessories, cushions, all types of tableware, and much more. I have secured a table and would like all of you to stop by and visit and perhaps purchase some of my wonderful wares. I do have a lot of beautiful décor items, large and small, as I have been cleaning for the past month and I have priced them all to sell! The event includes great deals, door prizes and a special VIP hour available with pre-purchased tickets. There will be great finds and remember, those who come early will get the best selection, but those who come later will get the best price. Habitat for Humanity is the charitable recipient for this event and any leftover home decor items that the vendors would like to donate will be donated to Restore. Admission is $5.00 and gets you an entry for one of the great door prizes. $10.00 Limited VIP Tickets are also available in advance to get early admission. www.greatclosetcleanout.com. Roseanne Ting-Mak Brown is the event producer.

The Maxine DeHart – United Way, Ramada Hotel Drive-Thru Breakfast is fast approaching on Thursday, October 17th, from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. Thanks to all the sponsors who were able to make the Sponsor Breakfast at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Centre on Friday, September 13th to review the event. There were over 102 sponsors that attended, and it was a great morning seeing all of you and your excitement for this event. I will be sending a follow-up of the Drive-thru for the sponsors who could not make the sponsor event. It’s also great to see so many returning sponsors including Turner Volkswagen. You might be lucky enough to receive one of many car detailing vouchers from Turner’s. Dairyland is again providing their popular yogurt for every bag, and you will also get some goodies from Canco Petroleum. Sleep Country will again be providing a large gift basket as will Jason and Rosy Agostino, owners of Mervyn’s the Body Shop. Papa Johns has been a sponsor for many years with valued coupons in every bag. You might even receive one of their famous free pizzas. All the Save On Foods have come on board as major sponsors this year. Milestones Grill + Bar have come in as a sponsor as has Care Dental. Last Drive-Thru some lucky participants received Electric Toothbrush vouchers in their bags. Westkey Graphics has been a sponsor for the entire time of the Drive-Thru and again has provided us with all the print and digital poster for distribution. It’s quite the job with all the new and existing sponsors and their work is much appreciated. If anyone would like to donate a prize for one of the bags or a gift card please give me a call at 250-862-7662. Everything donated is appreciated as we fill about 1,400+ bags. There are many ways in which you can help, and we can always make it work for both of us. Also, if you would like to come and help us bag the bags on October 16th for a couple of hours you are always welcome. Just give me a call.
