Congratulations to all the 94th Lady of the Lake contestants and the newly crowned 2024 Kelowna Ambassadors team. The team will volunteer at events in and around Kelowna as well as representing and promoting Kelowna in many communities throughout B.C.

Wyatt Cooper-Brown, Gulfstream’s assistant food and beverage manager and mixologist at the Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna has been named the Caesar Champion of B.C., competing in the Motts Clamato BC Caesar Championship in Vancouver, Wyatt showed his creativity and skill, earning top honors from the judges. The championship featured seven mixologist, each representing their unique interpretation of the classic Caesar cocktail. Wyatt’s standout creation of the Backyard Picnic impressed the judges not only with its flavor, but also with the meaningful story behind its name. The black box challenge reminded Wyatt of using leftover ingredients at home feeling like an improv picnic that the judges resonated with that.

Cardinal Capital Management comes to Kelowna with the grand opening of its new office, its first foray into B.C. The Okanagan Print Triennial offers local residents a fascinating glimpse into the global printmaking community that has opened at the Kelowna Art Gallery and runs until October 27th. Twenty-five artist were selected for their unique approach to the art of printmaking and 14 are Canadian artists including three from the Okanagan. Visitors will see woodblock printing, screen printing, monotype, etching and intaglio, lithography, collagraphy and more. The three Okanagan artists are Dr. Darian Goldin Stahl, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan, and Todd Schultz. Christine May is the Curator at the Kelowna Art Gallery and Nataley Nagy is the Executive Director.

The KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence Association has appointed Chris Lapointe as its new Executive Director. Chris joined the newly created Kelowna-based Flair Airlines in 2005, relocating to Kelowna in 2008. In his role as VP and GM of Commercial Operations for Flair, Chris was pivotal in the successful growth and management of the B737 charter airline operation, guiding it from inception through its sale as a commercial passenger carrier in 2018. Chris’ appointment follows the retirement of Paula Quinn the Centre’s first Executive Director.
