Straight From DeHart - Jan. 24, 2024

Sushi Sai has opened at 1607 Ellis Street, kitty-corner from OEB Breakfast Co. The restaurant is owned and operated by a delightful husband and wife couple, Chef Eric Lee and Lynn Kim. If you love sushi, you really must visit this wonderful quaint restaurant. Eric had an impressive background during his culinary journey that led him to open Sushi Sai. He attended Culinary School at Okanagan College in 2017 and studied under the wing of Chef Jim Armstrong. Eric did his internship at Mission Hill Estate and Waterfront Wines. He worked at the popular Blue Tail Sushi and then at Predator Ridge for three years. Sushi Sai has been completely renovated with a welcoming and warm atmosphere with 26 seats. The restaurant has an extensive menu, and everything is made fresh daily by Chef Tim Han who relocated from Vancouver. We sampled several items on the menu including Prawn Tempura, Chicken Karaage, Beef Tataki (Wagyu Beef), Black Dragon Rolls, Caterpillar Rolls, Assorted Nigiri, and the most delicious Seafood Udon Noodle Soup. All the authentic Japanese food items were incredibly delicious and beautifully presented with generous portions. Sushi Sai offers eat-in or take-out from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday; noon to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed Sundays. As they are open until 11:00 p.m. you can enjoy late night Sushi. Sushi Sai are on all the delivery platforms for take-out, or you can pick-up your order.
