Voting Rules for the "Best of Kelowna 2017"
First things first: One Vote, Per Category, Per Person. You can vote as a registered user (email registration) on the site or with a Facebook account. Rest assured, we're serious about keeping your info private, but we do need to take steps to ensure a fair vote. Your e-mail address will be used to send your voting information to you, and we may send out one or two reminders near the end of voting if you haven't finished. But that's it - you won't hear any more from us unless of course, you want to. Select "Yes" to join our mailing list if you want us to hang on to your address. We'll add you to our newsletter, and you may even receive goodies from us once in awhile!
During the nomination process, you can fill the nomination form multiple times if you want to submit some nominations, then come back later and nominate more. However, you are only allowed to nominate a business in a category once. So you can't nominate two different businesses in the same category, nor can you nominate the same business twice.
The fine print: Limit of one (1) vote, per category, per person. You can vote as a registered user or with your Facebook account. If it is discovered that a voter has attempted to: (i) vote more than one time during the voting period; and/or (ii) use (or attempt to use) multiple names, identities and/or more than one (1) email address to vote - or otherwise participate, he/she may be disqualified from the competition and all of his/her votes may be disqualified. Use (or attempted use) of multiple identities, email addresses and/or any automated system to register for, vote, or otherwise participate in the voting is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification. KelownaNow is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible votes.
Any voters determined to be in violation of these rules (including, without limitation, votes determined to be coming from any source other than a registered voter) are subject to disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of KelownaNow.
All votes are subject to verification. We reserve the right to require proof of identity and/or eligibility from any entrant (or any individual purporting to be an entrant) for any votes entered, or purportedly entered, by such voter to be considered valid for the purposes of the Best of Kelowna. Failure to provide such proof in a timely manner may result in disqualification of the applicable votes that cannot be verified in its sole and absolute discretion. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid voter registration and/or voting will be the Contest server machine(s).
This year only businesses located from Peachland to Lake Country, and the Big White area are eligible for nomination.
