RV damaged after fire in West Kelowna

West Kelowna firefighters put out a fire at an RV home yesterday afternoon.

The blaze, along Ross Road, was knocked down quickly not long after 3 pm.

But Fire Chief Jason Brolund said the home was rendered uninhabitable by the fire.

Nobody was inside at the time.

Its residents will now be moving in with friends, Brolund explained.

The fire appears to have been caused by an overheated electrical appliance.

“West Kelowna Fire Rescue reminds members of the public to be mindful of physical distancing, even during emergency situations,” Brolund added.

“It is critical that firefighters are given extra space to get their job done. The public is respectfully asked to stay well away from emergency responders as they approach and work at fire scenes.

“This is for everyone’s safety and to ensure that firefighters stay healthy to continue to protect the community.”
